| | Problems and countermeasures in the development
of electronic business in China Introduction One research report in the
US has shown that in 2003 83 million Americans have experienced B to C through
the web, and the total consumption value has exceeded 50 billion US dollars, an
increase of 26.3% than the last year. Total consumption value in this year is
expected to grow largely, and a record of 120 billion US dollars will be achieved.
This report has also shown that now two thirds of Internet surfers throughout
the US have the experiences of online purchase. However, 4 years ago the number
was only 47%, which is approximately 36 million. The investigation has also shown
that during the Christmas holiday and the New Year vocation in last year, the
hottest days of online purchase of the year, the operation volume has reached
as high as 18 billion US dollars, a 35% increase year on year. Besides, the report
has also pointed out that on one hand, operation volume of online purchase is
on continuous rise; on the other hand, the structure of consumers has also changed
to some extent. Last year, number of female customers takes up 52% of total customers,
and for the first time in history, female number has exceeded that of the male.
At the same time, number of the aged online purchasers has also increased greatly.
Data has shown that since 2000, customers over 65 have increased by 47%. The report
believes that the convenience and promptness of online purchase are the main reasons
that absorb the female and aged. (1) Application of electronic commerce has
been expanded to service sectors, and electronic commerce has now developed into
an integral part of service sectors. In china, online purchase has developed quite
rapidly. Currently, the electronic commerce in China develops quite rapidly, the
latest research have shown that current internet usurers have already exceeded
68 million, which is only second to that of USA. In this year, total Internet
purchase has risen up by 20%. China's electronic commerce has now enters into
a rapid period of development. What can not be neglected is that many problems
and puzzles exist in the development of China's electronic commerce. If these
problems and puzzles have not been attached importance to or could not be resolved,
what is inevitable is that sometime in the future the sound development of China's
electronic commerce would be seriously blocked. What need to be noticed is information
safety and the incompleteness of trust system. Writer would analyze and discuss
the all the above problems in the following part of the dissertation. This
dissertation consists of four parts. Part one is the overview of electronic
commerce.This part mainly focuses on the basic theory of electronic commerce.
First of all, the definition of electronic commerce will be made clear. As far
as China's electronic commerce development is concerned, electronic commerce means
a kind of open and mutual transaction based on networks, which includes inquiry,
ordering, pay and logistics. Suppliers, providers of shopping service and consumers
are all involved. Second part is the analysis of the characteristics of electronic
commerce. On one hand, operation cost has been decreased; on the other hand, customers
are given more choices. Thirdly, the significance of developing electronic commerce
mainly is mainly reflected in the effective establishing of brands and images
of enterprises, which can help reduce the operation cost of enterprises, improve
work efficiency, promote the acquisition of competitive advantages and to offer
more effective after-sale service. Final part is the analysis of the overview
of China's electronic commerce, which consisting both the hardware and software
conditions and the characteristics of its development.
