Is it significant for pupils to write papers?

I. Introduction: Concerning the topic whether it is significant
for pupils to write paper, different parents hold different
views.
II. Views of positive part: some parents advocate the method
of asking pupils to write paper greatly. They have given many
reasons to support their views. Such as experience of the
developed countries; it is contributed to cultivating students’
ability; it changes traditional teaching pattern; it changes
the traditional teaching concept.
III. Views of negative part: some parents objecting to this
kind of method to let pupils write papers. They have abundant
arguments to support their view. For example: it does not
match the present Chinese teaching environment; it is not
advisable to adopt the method of “ pulling shoots upward in
an excessive effort to make them grow”; no rotting; the condition
is unripe.
IV. Author’s view: We can have a try if we can reduce the
demand on pupils’ paper. There are five reasons to support
author’s view. They are: the flexible requirement; we should
teach students in accordance of their aptitude; following
in sequence and advancing step-by-step; Pilot Project.
V. Conclusion: Pupils can have a try to write paper. In my
opinion, we can let pupils have a try of paper.
VI. Appendix: An example of how to instruct pupils to write
thesis.
I. Introduction
From this March on, every student, who is in class 1, grade
5 of Gui-xiang Xin-cun primary school, has to hand in an academic
paper with about 2000 words every month. This is their Chinese
homework. Chen Yong, the instructor and Chinese teacher of
this class as well as the promoter of this work, said, it’s
a try to improve the teaching method of Chinese. It’s always
the common mind that only the postgraduates and doctors can
do well in paper and the pupils cannot do it at all. Is it
expecting too much for pupils to write a paper? This point
has aroused different opinions of parents. Concerning the
topic whether it is significant for pupils to write paper,
different parents hold different views.
